Is Greece a Safe Destination

Greece remains a premier choice for international travelers, solidified by its reputation as a safe, hospitable, and authentic destination. According to recent statements by Andreas Fiorentinos, Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Greece’s strong standing is particularly evident among Nordic travelers, who view the country as a reliable high-quality choice.

The data supports this confidence: in 2025, Greece captured a significant 35% of the total travel packages sold in Finland. This trust is built on a foundation of safety and the unique "filoxenia" (hospitality) that characterizes the Greek travel experience. To further support this demand, connectivity is expanding, such as new direct flights from Helsinki to Thessaloniki, making different regions of the country more accessible. Overall, Greece is positioned not just as a popular summer spot, but as a secure and sustainable destination committed to providing high-quality experiences for all visitors.

Athens Riviera remains the epicentre of Greek tourism for 2026 and a private boat tour is always a good idea.
