TAP Air Portugal new direct Lisbon to Athens route

TAP Air Portugal expands European connectivity with new direct Lisbon to Athens route

TAP Air Portugal has announced the launch of a new direct flight service connecting Lisbon and Athens, scheduled to commence on July 1, 2026. This strategic addition establishes a consistent air bridge between the two capitals, catering to both the increasing demand for Mediterranean travel and the airline's broader network expansion.

The service will operate five times per week with a schedule designed for maximum flexibility. Flights from Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport will depart at 21:30 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving in Athens at 03:40 the following morning. Return flights from Athens International Airport are scheduled for 04:40 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, reaching Lisbon at 07:15 local time.

To optimize operational efficiency, the airline will deploy different aircraft based on seasonal demand. The summer months will see the use of the Airbus A320neo, while the IATA winter season will transition to the Embraer E190. This deployment ensures year-round viability and modern comfort for passengers.

Introductory fares for round-trip tickets start at 119 euros including taxes. Beyond the direct connection, TAP emphasizes that this route serves as a gateway for travelers to explore broader Greek destinations such as Delphi, Meteora, and the Saronic islands. As a member of the Star Alliance, TAP Air Portugal continues to leverage its Lisbon hub to bridge European routes with its extensive network in Africa and the Americas.
